Andreia stood ready to leave her house. If you could really call it a house- It was a simple two room wooden structure, really a glorified shack, that she called home. The entrance room had a small table in the center and several chairs along with a surprising collection of books and papers. There was also a sparsely used stove; Andreia avoided plant foods and could eat meat raw in her spirit form. It was only used for the occasional guest.

The second room was her bedroom. It was smaller than the main room but also held plenty of books. There was a small bed with thin, worn sheets, wood that had obviously seen it's share of people, a soft mattress and a blue blanket. It also had a desk in the corner with an unlit candle complete with a chair.

The entire house was an untidy mess; books and papers scattered on the floor despite there being obvious space for them on the bookshelves, pencils and more books strewn on her desk and her bed, and stains on the blankets, chairs, shelves and even books that were far too old to make sense of. It didn't help that Andreia left quite a bit of dog hair where ever she went. This mess was enough to embarrass her slightly. Momo had come over to convince her to go to the Osaka festival. He hadn't acted like most people would about the mess- Momo was too polite for that- but Andreia had a sneaking suspicion he was fighting the urge to put things away.

She just wore her typical short black dress with thin straps. Momo, in contrast, was dressed more festively- {HEY SKY COME BACK HERE AND FIX THIS YOU IDIOT}. "You're going in your normal clothes?" the minotaur asked. "Yeah, i only own one other outfit, and it's too warm for that," Andreia clarified, almost confused. Momo giggled. "You're supposed to wear something festive, it's the Osaka Festival," he pointed out. Andreia brought a hand up to her face. "Forgot. Any ideas?" Momo sighed, almost more of a pitiful laugh. "Honestly, Andreia, you should get out more. Come on. You got some money in those pick-pocket pockets of yours?" Andreia smirked. "Of course." She slipped a hand into the well hidden pocket in her dress, pulling out some obviously stolen shillings. "Let's go buy something!"

Andreia followed Momo out of the house. She rarely stopped to observe the scenery of South Vermond- not like there was much to look at aesthetically. But there was plenty she hadn't observed, even in 7 years. The way people hurried down the unpaved street like their destination was more important than anyone around them or stopped to chat with friends and acquaintances. The smell of fresh baked bread thick in the air, contrasting nicely with the warm green smell of the forest nearby. Well-off aristocrats not even noticing people who Andreia had come to think of as frie- no, more partners in crime than friends. You can never trust a fellow thief, or they'll steal what you worked so hard to steal for yourself. Andreia had had this happen to her and had done it several times herself.

"Here," Momo announced, jolting her back to reality. They had arrived at a marketplace. People came here to set up shop, be it temporary or permanent. You could find nearly anything in this circle- from jewelry to livestock, cloth to fruit. At this point she was led almost unwillingly up to a temporary stand making quite a bit off of the Osaka Festival as it sold finely crafted jewelry and festive clothing obviously meant for the occasion. Everything was done up in white, red and purple, with small touches of gold and pink thrown in. "Nothing black or blue?" Andreia complained good-naturedly. Momo laughed. "Come on, lets find something you like."

After 15 minutes, three broken pieces of jewelry, 2 pairs of discarded shoes and 1 bruised salesmen, Andreia finally picked one.

It was a nice purple color, in a kimono-like style but not exactly the same. The sash was done in red, and the seams in a soft, silk white. Subtle accents in the shape of Stephanotis flowers decorated the skirt, done in her favorite color- finally, something blue. Andreia held the festive outfit up to see. "Perfect," she breathed. Momo rolled his eyes as they approached the saleswoman. She wore some kind of paint or tattoo and carried a short staff. Andreia assumed the women was a sorcerer. She forced some sort of politeness- she couldn't buy anything by being rude. "Miss? I'd like to purchase this one please." The woman smiled. "No problem." Andreia handed her the specified amount and walked away with a grin. "This is great! Just gotta put this on."

The two hurried back to her house and she quickly changed in her room. She looked down. "Hmm," she murmured. "A tiny modification won't hurt." She applied her knowledge of sewing to turn it into a layered, short dress, still including the silk belt. Now less traditional but more her style (formal-wise), she stepped out of her room. "What took you so- oh, you changed it? Hmm. Looks good still," he shrugged. Andreia smirked. "Let's be on our way then."
Finally leaving, they made their way out. Suddenly her face was lit with confusion. "How're we going to get there? Osaka's not exactly in walking distance, at least in our time frame..." Momo sighed. "I planned ahead. They've got carriages with horses, you know." At that moment the aforementioned vehicle pulled up in front of them. "Sir, you sent for a carriage," the driver stated. "Right." His voice dropped. "Uh, i kinda planned on you paying for it.." Andreia laughed. "What a gentleman," she whispered back as she paid the driver.
The carriage ride was rather quiet as Andreia watched the run-down but large town landscape change into a countryside and then a huge city. The streets were lined with cherry blossom trees as well as bushes and trees thick with Stephanotis flowers. The city was lit with a soft pink glow; the red lanterns hanging from the trees already cast a tainted light but the entire setting changed with the light reflecting off the blooming trees. Even more, the moon shone down, drenching everything in silver-pink. Andreia almost gasped at the beauty at it but quickly caught herself.

"This is where you get out," the driver announced, for the second time that day wrenching her from her lucid thoughts. "Oh, right. Come on, Momo," she stuttered, opening the door. She stepped outside into the night. The cool air was a nice break from the stuffy carriage, filled with a flowery scent that invaded her superior canine senses like a warm blanket to a cold child. She shivered, more from anticipation than the small chill in the air. She turned to Momo as the carriage trotted off. "Come on! I'm starving!" She gripped his hand and childishly ran down the cobbled street, relishing the clicking her feet made. They arrived at a stand selling sweets. Chocolate coated caramel balls, cake on a stick, caramel apples, candied fruit, this stand had everything. Andreia licked her lips, then flushed as she realized she still held Momo's hand like an excited little kid. She let go quickly and let her eyes pick through the selection.

After the dress and the carriage ride, Andreia was already short on money, but she couldn't resist as she spent a lot of what she carried in the pocket she had hidden in the outfit on sweets. Shoving a hunk of chocolate in her mouth, she giggled and handed Momo a few sticks of pocky. "Don't look so surprised. I love candy when I can get a hold of it!" The werewolf proceeded to lead him down the path, no longer at a hurried gate but rather slow now as she gazed around in awe, absorbing the scene like a sponge. She stopped at another stand. It boasted a fun looking game in which the player had to knock down swaying targets with small cloth balls. "10 for 10 shillings," it advertised. You could win lucky charms, stuffed animals, sweets or flowery decorations. "Lemme give this one a shot," she announced, shoving her armful of treats into Momo's arms.

Handing money to the operator of the game, she took her ammunition, reeled back one thin arm, and hurled the ball. She smirked as the man's face was lit with shock and the target cracked from the force of her throw.

In the end she hit 7 out of ten targets, hit the operator in the head once, and landed the other two in the trees. "That was great!" she grinned as she was handed a stuffed dog, more candy (she became almost giddy at this), and a stick embellished with fragrant pink cherry blossoms. As they started again down the cobblestone street, she turned to Momo, holding up the stick. "What am I 'sposed to do with this?" Momo smiled warmly. Even being a smaller minotaur himself, he could still look down at her. Darn, that girl was short. He took the stick from her hand and in one swift movement wedged it gracefully by her ear. It now decorated her head like an aromatic barrette.

She smiled. "Thanks for letting me know." She started again down the path. "Now what?" she asked, observing the scene once again. The ground was lit pink with blossom-filtered moonlight and red lanterns, and sparkled again with fallen petals. Momo took note of the petals landing in her black hair. It made her look almost spirit-like. Granted she technically was a spirit; that was what made Forsaken Guardian werewolves what they were. He almost laughed at himself at this sudden wave of thought. Suddenly Andreia's hand was waving in front of him. "Hey, Momo wake up. Dangit, i'm a bad influence on you. Soon enough you're going to be blanking out all the time like me," she laughed. Momo shook his head humorously to wake himself up. "Sorry." Andreia rolled her eyes. "Come on, I found a contest!"

Andreia made her way over to where there was a rather musical area. Just then it struct her how many people were here. Many she had never seen- unicorns and pegasi, other werewolves, nagas, sorcerers and sorceresses, animal demons, sirens and kemonomimis, and obviously lots of humans. She smiled. Finally, we've stopped fighting for a while.

The contest itself was a music making contest. Whether you be a singer or a guitarist, a fiddler or a flutist, you fit in here. They in fact had instruments for free use all over, and this included a large, ornate harp. She gave an almost pleading glance to Momo. "Why do you ask me?" he laughed, tilting his head. Andreia laughed. "I don't know. Are you gonna try anything?" Momo shook his head, color rushing from his face. "Come on! You're incredible!" This time color rushed back into his cheeks as he blushed a pink that could be compared to the cherry blossoms. "No, I'm really not, you are. You go ahead." Andreia rolled her eyes. "Okay. Don't go any where."

Andreia made her way over to the harp and stroked the smooth wood, waiting for her turn. A beautiful make, the details are so intricate.. but they should've payed more attention to the strings, they're not quite tight enough..
"Miss?"
The voice broke her from her thoughts. "Oh, yes?" she looked up. "Are you going to play for us?" Her face flushed. "Oh, yes, I was planning on it. Is it my turn?" The man nodded. "Okay. Here goes.."

It began simple, but soon Andreia had begun an emotional song about music, adding her voice, and couldn't be broken from the trance. Neither could the audience. The girl would've either fainted or swelled with narcissism if she'd seen the crowd that'd gathered. She hit the last line with a swelling crescendo and the harp's sweet sound complimenting her. She blushed- a blush that could compete with even Momo's- as she realized she was surrounded. "Oh, uh.. th-thank you."

After a few more songs by talented musicians, Andreia grinned brightly as she took second place. "Too bad you didn't enter. You would've knocked the judges out," Andreia declared to Momo. He chuckled nervously. "No, I'm not that good." Andreia gave him a hard but warm stare. "You can play any instrument you blow down, and you're telling me you can't wow a few judges?" Momo embarrassedly scratched the back of his neck. "Okay, you win." Andreia smirked. Momo rolled his eyes.

The two made there way down the street for the third time, listening to the music. After a few more games (and knocked out people), they returned to where the contest had been held. It had been turned into a circle of dancers, music playing ranging from happy, jubilant two person jigs to romantic slow dances. As another happy song turned on, Andreia glanced up at Momo. "You thinking what I'm thinking?" Her eyes sparkled. Momo smiled. "Why not?" Andreia took his hand and pulled him into the throng of people and the two began to clumsily dance around the circle.

They spun again as they neared the end of the song. Andreia laughed as she tripped over his foot again, almost hitting the ground this time. She grinned as he pulled her back on her feet. At that moment the song switched to a slower one. Couples slowed to the music, leaning into each other, whereas groups of friends that had been dancing split apart from the circle. Both Andreia and Momo paused for a moment. Both of them thought the same thing. What now? Should we go on dancing? What does the other think?

At the exact time, they made a mutual decision. Looking up, Andreia moved each hand in turn; one to his shoulder and the other hesitantly towards his hand. The crowd shifted and she faltered, almost clumsily falling again. Momo quickly caught her with a hand around her waist and meeting her reaching hand. Now again returning to the throng, continuing their dance, they looked each other in the eyes again.
Andreia's blue depths shone with a confused kind of pleasure, like she'd sheltered herself from the feeling for a long time. And she had. Seven years, in fact, she had tried not to just trust someone, to be happy in their arms. Trust got you in trouble.
Momo's own blue eyes were lit with content. Just.. content. He hadn't been happy like this since meeting his faction.

On the moonlit night, dancing under the soft pink glow, there were two very happy people.
